Coal, Resistance, and Personal Growth

The economic loop

Season 2 growth is simple:

Coal → Alloy Factory levels → Titanium Alloy → Furnace levels → Virus Resistance

Resistance is what lets your squad fight stronger seasonal targets. A higher Furnace therefore improves both survival and access to better territory.

Spend early Coal in this order

  1. Keep enough Coal to survive the next Blizzard.
  2. Advance the regular Alloy Factory unlock chain.
  3. Donate Coal left after protecting the Blizzard reserve and next factory unlock.
  4. Use additional Coal for optional heat and later seasonal buildings.

Do not treat personal overdrive as free. Burning Coal all day for a small bonus can delay the factory levels that produce permanent resistance growth.

Unlocking Alloy Factories

Getting a regular factory to Level 15 unlocks the next regular factory. Therefore:

  1. take the first regular factory to 15;
  2. take the next regular factory to 15;
  3. repeat until all regular factories are open; and
  4. after all regular factories are open, keep their levels moving together.

The Weekly Pass factory is an extra producer. It does not replace the regular unlock chain. Its costs can differ by version, so compare the next upgrade in the live game. The rule is simple: do not let the bonus factory delay unlocking the next regular factory.

Daily Coal routine

Doom Walker first kill

Wait until Season 2 is active before taking the day's first Doom Walker kill. Join the highest level the alliance can safely defeat; current player data places the Coal cap at Level 190.

Seasonal first kills

Kill the highest seasonal zombie or elite you can defeat without catastrophic troop losses. The resistance penalty grows quickly, so “higher target” is not automatically more efficient.

Dig Site production

Claim accumulated Coal at Alliance → Alliance City → Produced Coal → Claim All.

Radar and season objectives

Claim saved Radar Tasks after the Season 2 rewards are active. For Coal-donation objectives, protect the Coal needed for the next factory unlock and Blizzard before donating the remainder.

Resistance: why strong squads sometimes do zero damage

Seasonal enemies compare their resistance requirement with your resistance.

If you are far below the requirement:

  • your damage falls;
  • the enemy's damage rises sharply; and
  • your squad may be wiped before any damage registers.

For Dig Site rallies, lower-resistance members inherit the rally leader's resistance. This makes one advanced Furnace valuable to the entire alliance. It does not remove the need for strong squads: at least one squad must survive long enough for damage to count.

Furnace Level 30

Level 30 matters because it:

  • reaches the personal Furnace cap;
  • provides the highest seasonal resistance from the Furnace;
  • enables Violet's UR promotion path; and
  • unlocks the Tank, Aircraft, and Missile seasonal buildings.

Do not rush temporary troop-type buildings at the cost of the factory/resistance chain unless the live battle plan requires them.

Profession skills

The supplied profession card shows icons without skill names. Do not copy it blindly; one similar-looking icon can put points into the wrong skill.

This guide does not publish a profession build from those icons. Before spending a point, open the skill and verify its name, required level, and exact effect in the game.

Violet promotion: the expensive part people miss

Promoting five-star Violet to UR resets her to three stars.

You get back:

  • Violet fragments invested in Wall of Honor; and
  • all skill medals used on Violet.

You do not get back the shards used to make her five stars before promotion.

Rebuilding her from three to five stars requires 1,600 Violet or SSR Universal Shards. Promote on Hero Training day only after understanding that cost. Raising Wall of Honor before promotion increases the fragments returned, but it does not refund the original five-star cost.

Exclusive weapons: the decision that matters

Season 2 releases the exclusive weapons on this schedule:

  • Murphy: Week 1, Day 4
  • Carlie: Week 3
  • Swift: Week 6

Activation requires the hero at five stars and 50 hero-specific weapon shards.

Universal weapon shards cannot replace the hero-specific activation shards. The corresponding Exclusive Weapon Battle Pass is available only through Day 3 of the following week: Week 2 for Murphy, Week 4 for Carlie, and Week 7 for Swift. Missing the pass does not prevent later activation, but you still need 50 hero-specific shards from another source.

Personal daily checklist

  • Take the Doom Walker first kill after Season 2 is active.
  • Claim Dig Site Coal.
  • Protect the next Blizzard reserve.
  • Advance the regular factory unlock chain.
  • Upgrade the Furnace with produced Alloy.
  • Check resistance before starting a seasonal fight.
  • Turn overdrive off when it is no longer needed.
