ASA2 Season 2 Field Guide

Season 2 in one minute

Season 2 is built around one alliance resource: Rare Soil.

Your alliance produces Rare Soil by holding Dig Sites and cities. From Week 4 onward, opposing-faction alliances can steal it by destroying your Alliance Furnace. Final alliance rank is based on Rare Soil, so everything connects:

  1. Get Coal.
  2. Use Coal to unlock Alloy Factories.
  3. Use Alloy to upgrade personal Furnaces and resistance.
  4. Use high-resistance rally leaders to capture Dig Sites and cities.
  5. Produce Rare Soil from that territory.
  6. Protect it—or take more—in Rare Soil War.

The five things every member needs to know

1. Do not freeze

Below -20°C, a five-minute countdown begins. If you freeze, you cannot start rallies or teleport.

Stay inside the Alliance Furnace square. Use your personal Furnace during Blizzards, and ask allies to send Recon Planes if you are close to freezing.

2. Coal is scarce early

Coal unlocks factories, fuels your personal Furnace, and fuels the Alliance Furnace. Early in the season, do not leave personal overdrive running when no cold wave is threatening.

3. Resistance controls seasonal combat

A powerful squad with poor resistance may do almost no damage and suffer enormous losses. Furnace upgrades raise resistance.

For Dig Site rallies, lower-resistance joiners inherit the rally leader's resistance. Leadership will name the highest-resistance players who are allowed to start rallies.

4. Territory must remain connected

Dig Sites open the path to cities. Cities give much more Rare Soil and warm their tiles. Leadership will choose the route. Members will capture the marked target and will not improvise another route.

5. Attendance wins Furnace battles

Rare Soil War is not primarily about killing enemy bases. Attackers must overwhelm and destroy the Furnace. Defenders must keep it filled with reinforcing squads. An alliance with many members following one timing call can beat a stronger but disorganized alliance.

What members do

  • Collect Coal, produce Alloy, and raise Furnace levels and resistance.
  • Keep enough Coal for the next Blizzard.
  • Join rallies started by the designated resistance leaders.
  • Participate in Dig Site and city captures.
  • Show up for Beast Crisis, Rare Soil War, and Faction Duel.
  • Follow the current target, timing, and role assignments instead of freelancing.

What Leadership will do

  • Place the Alliance Furnace and tell members when more Coal is needed.
  • Plan the connected territory route.
  • Identify the highest-resistance rally leaders and correct troop counters.
  • Publish event times from the live countdown.
  • Divide Rare Soil War members into specific attack, garrison, missile, and replacement roles.
  • Provide live targets, coordinates, and assignments before each operation.

Where to go next

One rule about written guides

Use the live event screen for countdowns, resistance requirements, attack limits, and current rewards. Written guides explain the mechanic and the plan; the game screen controls the live event.
